About the organisation

Rocket Learning is a leading early childhood development nonprofit working to ensure that every child achieves full brain and body development by age six. Partnering with governments across India, Rocket Learning delivers joyful, community-driven early learning programs and builds scalable, technology-led solutions for children aged 0–6 years.

Problem Statement

Across India’s 1.4 million Anganwadi Centres, children complete worksheets almost daily, yet most remain uncorrected due to time constraints and limited capacity. This weak reinforcement limits learning gains and widens early learning gaps, while placing a heavy manual burden on frontline Anganwadi workers.

Solution

Rocket Learning developed an AI-powered worksheet autocorrection system that delivers instant, personalised feedback via WhatsApp. Using computer vision and automation, the solution grades worksheets, returns corrected sheets in local languages, and sends nudges to caregivers strengthening learning reinforcement while reducing frontline workload.

Challenge

Weak feedback loops constrained early learning outcomes

Despite widespread worksheet-based practice in early childhood programs, the absence of timely feedback limits the effectiveness of these learning activities at scale.

Key challenges include:
  • Millions of worksheets completed daily but rarely corrected due to time and capacity constraints
  • Limited ability of Anganwadi workers to provide individual feedback at scale
  • Low reinforcement of learning at home, reducing the effectiveness of worksheets
  • Absence of real-time data on learning engagement and progress

These gaps weakened foundational learning during the most critical years of child development.
