Case at a Glance

About the Organisation

Smile Foundation is an Indian development organization reaching over 20 lakh children and families annually across 27 states. Operating through 400+ grassroots projects in education, healthcare, livelihood, and women empowerment, it acts as a catalyst complementing government efforts to drive long-term structural change.

Problem Statement

Smile Foundation’s growth was constrained by outdated systems and manual processes. Excel-based fundraising pipelines limited visibility, while manual field audits and disconnected systems slowed verification, increased operational effort and made information harder to track. These challenges made it difficult to scale programmes and demonstrate impact without increasing costs and required changes in how teams worked and adopted new systems.

Solution

Smile Foundation undertook an organisation-wide digital transformation by modernising its cloud infrastructure, using Salesforce to connect fundraising with project execution, and introducing dedicated platforms to manage beneficiaries. This created a unified, paperless system with real-time data and analytics.
